Wake up! Christians in California; now is the time to stand united!
The supreme court of California is hearing arguments about the constitutionality of Proposition 8 the “Gay marriage ban”. Where are the rallying Christians supporting the biblical institution on marriage? Have we become so passive-aggressive that we are going to sit and watch? Remember, we are called as a people to be as a light to the world. Meaning, we are to live a life as an example to the world, spreading his name to all the people. God has has given us marriage by example and definition. One man and one woman. The moral majority has spoken, lets not be silenced by the immoral minority.

Why the “route 66″ part of this name? It’s a bastardization of the road that I hold dear, and to humanity in general.

I have nothing but the greatest reverence for the venerable highway. The rich history is unparalleled in U.S. history, it also happens to be the number of books in the currently accepted “Holly Bible”. I am part of a mens bible study group who’s main focus is to get men to read the bible by assigning a daily chapter to read. Starting with Genesis 1:1 and ending with Revelation 22:21. A reading which spans from cover to cover, not unlink the Majestic Highway.

But 66 was not “cover to cover” and is the Mother Road, not the Majestic Highway. I cannot and therefore won’t get into a religious debate, but if you are going to TRY to reference the most historic road in America and perhaps the most famous highway in the world, at least get those facts right. I’ll leave the bible-thumping rhetoric to those that value fiction over spirituality.

I may not be old enough to have experienced, but I understand the historical significants of what is most likely the most important part of development of the West Coast. I am quite certain that my family had once traveled it coming this way. Just as we men can relive our glory years, holding onto what we were, that football star, becomes a memory fading into the past. Please join the site and start your own thread about Route66. Some have chosen spirituality whereas others have chosen legalism and yet others choose not to believe. Without exploring your theology, you may if you wish, share with us your passion for the journey called Route66.
